At the Milan Furniture Fair and FuoriSalone, Pimar presented a series of unique design pieces. Pimar natural stone comes to life in collections conceived as functional and decorative furniture complements, for indoor and outdoor use, designed to enrich home and hospitality spaces with elegance and style.

Drawing upon a creative idea by Roberto Marcatti and Cintya Concari, Pimar launched a new collection of miniature homes, Case e Casette: small, fun works of art, born of a collaboration project with iconic protagonists of the world of design and architecture, such as Riccardo Dalisi, Ugo La Pietra, Luca Scacchetti, Alvaro Siza and Steven Holl.

Pimar gets the lead role in a new creative dimension with a sculpture conceived by architect and designer Steven Holl. One Two Five is a self-supporting system, designed to permeate with stunning stylistic force both indoor and outdoor spaces. The sculpture was displayed at a one-man show by the same name, One Two Five, held at Galleria Antonia Jannone in Milan.

The experimental work developed by Pimar over the years has generated a multiplicity of design approaches and production variants that enable lithic materials to shine in unprecedented ways, without losing sight of tradition. This approach to product design, having its roots in architecture, through industrial prefabrication and drywall construction techniques, makes it possible to achieve an equilibrium between mass, weight and gravity, ensuring static balance and structural safety.
This is reflected in Messàpo, a system of modules in natural limestone inspired by the stone drywalls that characterise the landscape of Salento. 

Born of Pimar’s collaboration with designers Luca Paolo Vasa and Francesco Di Luzio, founders of Noii Design Studio, Messàpo is comprised of two types of modules, which users can take down, rotate and put together again to be the architects of their own space, and even think of new functions for the product.
The modules, as explained by the designers “have been defined on the basis of anthropometric parameters that satisfy the designer’s intent to provide the conditions for a free and creative use, making their utilisation intuitive”. Messàpo is a collection comprised of a variety of products, conceived for both indoor and outdoor use: shelf, sideboard, lounge chair, bench or coffee table. 

After years of neglect, thanks to Pimar’s intervention, the Augustinian complex in Lecce has been restored to its original splendour. The project was realised within the framework of a broader plan for the preservation of the Urban Walls of the city of Lecce, in which Pimar has played a primary role, not only as a supplier of Lecce stone, the original material used to build the various structures, but also as an active partner with unparalleled knowhow in restoration methods and techniques.

Restoration works requiring Pimar’s expertise and Pimar stone were carried out on nearly all the interior and exterior areas of the complex, including, in particular, the arches and the capitals of the cloister and the altar, decorative elements that, in the majority of cases, had to be completely rebuilt. 
From its stone quarries Pimar extracted and selected the best stone blocks according to physical and structural criteria. Architects and expert restorers from Pimar’s operational team undertook the restoration works by respecting the original stylistic features of each element, to bring back a monument which is now considered part of the artistic and cultural heritage of the city of Lecce.
